Recognizing & Resisting Coercive High Control Environments

$50.00

What is coercive control?

Intentionally manipulating the emotions, bodily chemistry, thoughts, information, or environment of a target in order to change their behaviors in ways that benefit the abuser, frequently harming the victim psychologically or physically. Coercive control culminates in getting the victim to consistently say or do things they wouldn’t say or do if outside the influence of their abuser(s). This behavioral re-programming to consistently act against our self-interest is socially referred to as “brainwashing.”

The umbrella term coercive high-control environment includes domestic violence, extremist groups, cults, and terrorist organizations. Understanding these environments and learning how to resist them gives us our best fighting chance against abuse, propaganda, and fascism.

Who is this workshop for?

  • those seeking a deeper understanding of behavioral and mind-control tactics used by cults, domestic abusers, and extremist groups

  • survivors of domestic violence, abuse, neglect, or harmful work environments seeking to understand their experience as part of the healing process

  • anyone who wants stronger boundaries against abuse, influence, and mechanisms of behavioral control

  • those concerned a friend or loved one is being influenced, wanting tools to effectively intervene and stop coercive control

This program will teach you the foundations of interpersonal influence so that by understanding these tools you can more easily recognize them when used against you--allowing you to confidently identify propagandist environments and abusive behaviors, avoiding them to the best of your ability, and to inform and assist others who are being targeted for abuse.
